Alexey Danilin is a product designer and the recipient of 98 international design awards. Born in 1987, he studied Fine Arts and built a multidisciplinary career spanning interior design, decoration, contemporary art and product design, which has become the main focus of his professional practice. He has developed around 2,000 models for mass production, while his work has been presented at approximately 50 exhibitions worldwide and featured in leading international design publications.

Alexey Danilin began his professional career in 2010 as an interior designer working with French decorator Vannina Boudet. He later continued as an event designer and decorator, as well as a show designer. His Christmas decoration projects were published in the international book Holiday Design — The Festive & Joyful by SendPoints.

His career then expanded into contemporary art. Alexey participated in the Young Biennale of Contemporary Art with the installation Futuristic Cross. The work was later installed in the Evangelical Lutheran Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul.

One of his first significant product design projects was Shell, a collection of transformable sofas that earned him his first Red Dot Award. He later focused increasingly on original lighting design. His lighting objects were presented during Design Week, while his projects were featured in international media including Interni, ELLE Decoration, Yanko Design, Marie Claire Maison, Designboom and Core77. One of his works also appeared on the cover of Light Design PRO.

Since 2014, Alexey Danilin has collaborated with Maytoni, developing decorative and functional lighting for mass production. During this period, he has created around 2,000 models, many of which have achieved strong international market success, with numerous collections remaining bestsellers for years. He also collaborates with other brands, including Euroluce Lampadari.

His designs have been exhibited at Maytoni stands during some of the world’s leading international trade fairs, including Salone del Mobile.Milano / Euroluce in Milan, Light + Building in Frankfurt and Maison&Objet in Paris, as well as exhibitions in Hong Kong, Poland, Russia and other countries. In total, his work has been shown at approximately 50 national and international exhibitions.

Today, Alexey Danilin is the recipient of 98 international awards in the field of product design.

A central focus of his practice is the exploration of new approaches to product development and the integration of aesthetics, technology and functionality. His key areas of research include the transformation of form and function, the use of artificial intelligence in the design process, intuitive control systems, experimentation with lighting effects, and the interpretation of humanity’s cultural heritage as a source of new ideas and visual languages. For Alexey, product design is not simply about creating form, but about continuously discovering new ways for people to interact with objects and the spaces around them.
