Crochet

The Crochet collection combines cultural heritage, the search for an original form, and contemporary lighting technology. Its inspiration comes from knitting, one of the oldest decorative crafts. The metal structure of the floor lamp evokes interlacing knitting needles, while the flexible LED cord recalls a soft strand of wool. This association defines the distinctive yet minimalist silhouette of the lamp.

Particular attention was given to the shape of the LED cord. The challenge was to achieve a smooth oval curve that would look natural and balanced from every angle. Its weight, flexibility, and bending behavior were carefully considered during development. The matte surface gives the cord a softer, more uniform appearance and makes it pleasant to the touch.

The construction was developed to combine an expressive form with simple engineering solutions suitable for serial production. The metal tubes are designed as detachable elements, while a specially developed cast-metal connector forms the central structural element. This approach reduces visual noise and preserves the purity of the silhouette.

Positioned in the upper part of the floor lamp, the LED light source provides soft, functional illumination. Crochet can be used for reading, working, and relaxing, making it suitable for living rooms, bedrooms, home offices, and public interiors. Its minimalist aesthetic allows it to integrate naturally into a wide range of interior styles.

The design process began with research into traditional crafts and hundreds of hand-drawn sketches. The aim was not to reproduce knitting literally, but to translate its principle into a contemporary object through the interaction of a rigid structure and a flexible line. Once the final silhouette was defined, the lamp was carefully modeled from every angle to ensure that the curved LED cord remained visually balanced from all viewpoints.
